I caught these two bees doing what they do best - pollinating. I used to be terrified of bees until I learned how incredibly important they are to maintaining our plant and food supply. Now I welcome them in my garden. They don't seem to care that I'm only inches away from them with my macro lens. They have a mission and they stick to it. Yesterday, there were about a dozen of them flying from stalk to stalk on my lavender plant, feeding on nectar and getting a dusty coat of pollen on their backs. I tried to capture a sharp shot of them in flight, but no luck this time. Perhaps tomorrow I'll get lucky.
