Hi. I’m Leslie.
I’m a former corporate contract manager turned commercial stock photomom living in the suburbs of Washington, DC. And proudly owned by cats.
Join me on my twisty, Hobbit-like unexpected journey through life. I share tips and stories about all the things I’ve loved and learned along the way - photography, traveling, birding, writing, publishing, cooking, gardening, and history. And I’ll share it all through lots and lots of photos. I’d call this a lifestyle blog for the visually inclined.
About this Website
When I began designing this website in 2018, my plan was to create a simple promotional tool for my photos and children's picture books. I had done a little blogging in the past and was well aware of the design limitations for a non-coder like me. But as I learned about the amazing advancements in web design for non-developers, I took the leap and created the website I WANTED, instead of waiting for that nebulous "someday." What I wanted was to create a super-helpful information repository for the topics I most care about in order to bring those topics to life. And so it began. Months of development, thousands of hours creating and curating content, and a lifetime of taking photos have finally come together into making this website.
Much of my content is an outflow of the Things to Do in Washington, DC section. If you visit a historic site in DC, you are visiting a piece of American History. To enhance your tourism experience, I've pulled together resources on the locations themselves, the people and events associated with them, the artists and architects who made them, and the authors who wrote about them. Some of the backstories on these places are fascinating! Can't make this stuff up! And of course, DC being the home of White House, my website includes information on all of the Presidents and First Ladies, too.
But I have to ask for your patience. I officially launched this website in May 2019. The content I've made available so far is just the beginning. I have much to add - articles, reviews, videos, photos, book references, anecdotes, documentaries, and more! So if my site seems a little sparse at the moment, please hang tight with me and check back often.
