Bull Run Festival of Lights
If you want to get into the holiday spirit in Northern Virginia, check out the Bull Run Festival of Lights. Every winter, from Thanksgiving to early January, Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA puts on a 2 1/2 mile, drive-through light show filled with thousands of colorful lights, illuminating scenes of holidays, winter and nature.
Turn up your favorite holiday songs in the car and point in awe at each delightful, shiny display. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy it!
There's Santa, of course.
And his reindeer, too, with Rudolph and his red nose leading the way.
There are scenes from classic children's stories, like Hansel and Gretel, and Peter Pan.
And cute animals.
Look up in the trees to find them, too.
Some of the lights are animated.
There's a patriotic display of stars and stripes.
Toward the end, you'll be showered in snowflakes and dripping icicle lights. It's magical!
When you reach the end of the drive, you can park on the field and enter the holiday village.
There are rides, games, food stands, photos with Santa, fire pits for making s'mores, and even camel rides!
Check the website for hours, ticket prices and coupons.
Bull Run Regional Park is operated by NOVA Parks, which also operates Meadowlark Gardens and its annual Winter Walk of Lights show. Find out more about it here.
